Attwater invest in a new Production Control Software. |
In May 2005, the Attwater Group decided to make the bold step of replacing their business software. The consensus was that the existing system, Sage Line 500 was unwieldy, and didn't fit exactly to the company's needs. In the coming months, several options were considered, before August 2006, when they opted for a relatively new system called Trakking.
Engineering Director Andy Goode said "The initial interest in Trakking stemmed from the simplicity of the system. We had no high pressure sales, we were simply sent a disc with a page of instructions. Within half an hour we had installed a demo version, entered stock, and put our first order on."
The Attwater Group have now been working closely with a developer from Trakking for the past 12 months, tweaking and updating parts of the system and now have now have a well rounded business software package with it's roots firmly in manufacturing.

£150,000 investment in Beamsaw and CNC Router. |
In order to improve the quality of service to our customers and to keep pace with increasing demand, our engineering manager, Mr Andy Goode has secured a deal to purchase £150,000 of new machinery.
The new machines have been purchased to enhance our machining capabilities and increase efficiency. In turn, this means that we will be able to reduce lead times to our customers and offer a wider range of product and services.
The new machines will include a 3.2m beam saw (right), and a Vac-bed cnc router (below) with a 2.7m x 1.2m bed.
Andy said; "It is important that we recognise the areas in which this level of investment will have the biggest impact.
Historically our core business has been a manufacturer and stockist of laminated products. In recent years we have seen a steady increase in the number of customers with machining requirements. We can see that we need to adapt our equipment and processes in order to continue to meet our customer's needs and expectations"
